Course will run Wednesdays 5-6.30 pm and 6.30-8pm

 

NEW this year will be an introduction to mindfulness session the week before the course begins where you can come and learn about what is involved before making a commitment.

Courses will run for 6 weeks and Students are requested to attend all 6 weeks.

Class size limited to 20 participants so places are subject to availability.

Students are required to fill in an application form available on booking section below.  Once your booking form is completed you will receive a follow on email confirming your place on the course. You will also receive information on frequently asked questions,confirmation of where the course will take place and information on what to bring along and generally what to expect.

About the course:

This  is an introductory  Mindfulness course based on the Mindfulness Association’s Mindfulness – Based Living Course MBLC. The first two units of the full  course will be our primary focus. Reference may also be made to aspects of the Mindfulness -Based Stress Reduction MBSR and the Mindfulness- Based Cognitive therapy programmes. Students will receive a weekly  email following the course with notes and audio files attached.

The weekly themes are:

  • Introduction – What is Mindfulness and Why Practice It? Importance of  mindful compassion.
  • Week 1 – Start where we are
  • Week 2 – The Body as a Place to Stay Present
  • Week 3 – Introducing Mindfulness Support
  • Week 4 – Working with Distraction
  • Week 5 –  Exploring the undercurrent/Attitude
  • Week 6 – Review/closure/follow up plan
